Rafay Announces Record Business Growth Driven by Industry Demand for its Kubernetes Operations Platform

Reports Doubled ARR and 100% Customer Satisfaction Score from Market Leaders Including Moneygram and Guardant Health

SUNNYVALE, Calif., – March 21, 2023Rafay Systems, the leading platform provider for Kubernetes management and operations, today announced record business growth resulting from the increasing demand for their Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform (KOP). The company doubled its annual recurring revenue (ARR) and grew its employee base by 40%. Delivering unmatched value to its customers, including Moneygram and Guardant Health, Rafay achieved a net promoter score (NPS) of 71 and a 100% customer satisfaction score in all four quarters of its past fiscal year. Additionally, the number of Kubernetes clusters under its management continues to grow, more than doubling over the past year.

“Despite current economic headwinds, Rafay experienced record growth because of the rising demand for our unified platform that tames the complex nature of Kubernetes,” said Haseeb Budhani, CEO and co-founder of Rafay Systems. “As reflected in our customer satisfaction score, over the past 12 months, we’ve been laser-focused on empowering our customers’ platform teams to automate and govern their Kubernetes infrastructure. We’ll continue to be in lockstep with them and, alongside our partners, remain committed to alleviating the platform teams’ Kubernetes burden.”

Market Need for Kubernetes Management and Operations

Kubernetes has seen tremendous growth and maturity since its inception almost a decade ago, introducing a new era for modern software deployment and management. According to the CNCF, Kubernetes is continuing to grow and reached its highest level ever, with 96% of organizations using or evaluating Kubernetes. This growth in adoption underscores the need for effective Kubernetes management and operations solutions. In an effort to standardize and govern the use of Kubernetes, 76% of high-performing organizations have created platform teams. However, growing pains—such as complexity, tool proliferation, skills gaps, cost, security and compliance—still remain, creating demand from platform teams for a better approach to Kubernetes management and operations.

In 2022, Rafay demonstrated incredible business growth through continued innovation on its Kubernetes Operations Platform that provides a unified, enterprise-grade platform to mitigate Kubernetes complexity, including:

Significant New Services Launched on the Rafay Kubernetes Operations Platform

  • To address cost containment issues, Rafay introduced the Cost Management Service, enabling platform teams to define cost boundaries for each application while optimizing their organization’s cloud budget.
  • The Network Policy Manager and Service Mesh Manager empower platform, developer and DevSecOps teams to centrally manage transport security and application traffic for cloud-native applications and Kubernetes clusters deployed across private data centers, public clouds and edge.
  • Rafay’s Kubernetes Addon Catalog allows enterprise platform teams to easily add and configure software addons in cluster blueprints, while developers are empowered to self-service curated cluster configurations, in just a few clicks.
  • Rafay expanded its work with AWS with native support for Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) Anywhere so enterprises and service providers can leverage a single platform to provide automation and governance of Kubernetes operations across cloud and datacenter environments. Rafay was among the first companies to achieve AWS Container Competency for enterprise container management. To ensure mutual customers receive a well-architected and cost-optimized solution, Rafay joined the AWS Service Ready Program for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) Spot Instances.
  • These product enhancements come on the heels of today’s launch of the Rafay Environment Manager, along with findings from the company’s survey, “Understanding Environment Provisioning for Application Development and Deployment.”

Technical Alliance Partner Program Launched to Tame the Complexity of Kubernetes Management and Operations

Rafay launched its Technical Alliance Program along with industry-leading partners such as GitLab Inc., F5 NGINX, MinIO, New Relic and Sysdig to alleviate the burdens associated with managing the growing time, cost and resources required to ensure the success of enterprise Kubernetes projects. The program accelerates the ongoing innovation effort between Rafay and strategic partners to deliver enhanced value to mutual customers by offering technical integrations across numerous software categories that are critical for modern applications and Kubernetes environments.

Paralus, an Open-Source Tool, Launched to Manage Secure Access to Kubernetes From Anywhere

Last June, Rafay announced Paralus, an open source access manager for Kubernetes clusters that allows organizations to create and manage access control policies for people, teams and services across multiple Kubernetes clusters without requiring any modifications to their firewall.

Since its launch, Paralus has been promoted to a sandbox project in CNCF to support the next phase of community-driven innovation, enabling net-new adoption patterns and further raising the bar in the container tool industry.
