Director of Communications

We’re looking for a Director of Communications to drive and manage our external comms and PR firm to promote our success, establish Rafay as a thought leader and enhance brand reputation. With a growth and global mindset, you will lead the entire Rafay comms strategy both internally and externally and build the framework for our team comms. You will report to our SVP of Marketing and work closely with our executive staff, senior leadership, business leaders, and product marketing teams to build and execute the comms strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a stronger industry presence for Rafay by owning and working with our outsourced PR firm for all press and analyst relations comms
  • Build a process for external comms and ensure that we have consistency in our comms on all channels – press, website, social, etc.
  • Build basic processes for consistency on internal comms and work with the team on a cadence/process/strategy.
  • Create and manage our queue of press releases across products, awards/achievements, customer successes, and partnerships
  • Start relations with analysts and create a strategy around analyst relations
  • Create a social comms plan and how we can leverage social for branding and community building
  • Engage with senior leadership and product marketing to develop our brand, key messaging, themes/topics, style/tone, target audiences, and appropriate communications channels
  • Establish an awareness measurement system and track and improve those metrics
    Manage company news and perspective through key channels

Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience
  • In-house experience at a growth/start-up company creating news that breaks through the noise
  • Both internal and external corporate communications experience
  • Experience collaborating with legal, marketing, and senior executives
  • Strong project management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven track record of building and working with key reporters and analysts
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills and a proactive communication style
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced growth environment while maintaining a calm demeanor, effectively navigating fast-paced situations
